Project size determines what we charge per hour. On large projects that involved several people, we charge less per hour. This is essentially a volume discount; we can reduce our overhead if we have fewer, larger projects. Project size is measure in two different ways, either by total hours or by man months of labor. We would say human months of labor, but that isn’t as common of a phrase. Our highest rates are for short term emergency situations. That is the 24 hour row. If the project involves one person for any duration less than a month, our rates are those shown in the second row. The third row is the rates that apply if there is more than one person working on the project for a duration that is more than two weeks but less than two months. This third row is the typical rate and the typical size of project. From the fourth row and on, projects are measured in human months. That means there are either a large number of people involved for a short period of time or just a few people involved for a longer time frame.

The customize rate is lower than the project rate because we are working on something related to one of our products. We may be integrating a software package you own with one of our products, or we may be adding a feature to one of our products that other product customers are not asking for.

The project rate is what we charge for any work that is not related to one of our products.

The travel rate is what we charge if we are working away from home. This applies whether we are working on one of our products or not.
