| Project Description: |
The Heart Institute shares a medical records system
with several physician offices through a special licensing arrangement with MedicaLogic. In
order to accurately track office usage for billing purposes, The Heart Institute needed an
application that would directly access a proprietary Oracle database. Maplewood Software
developed an application that queries the medical records system to determine average usage per
hour and automatically produces reports for billing purposes. |

of the items ordered, and place orders for those items. |

Microsoft traditionally built software on a daily or weekly basis, and
tested off of these builds. The nature of the technology behind a new breed of architecture required
a fully automated test suite to be run against every source code change submitted. Intitial software
was able to perform 15 to 20 tests a day, utilizing up to 80 machines in parallel to run the automated
tests. Maplewood product allowed for over 40 tests a day utilizing up to 500 machines in parallel. |

effort, completing the project on-time even though it was far behind schedule when Maplewood received the project. |

The newspaper allows fees for subscriptions to be paid over the Internet,
with the option of setting up automatic payment. In addition to accepting credit cards for
payment online, electronic checks are also accepted. The payment processing system is also used
in-house for phone orders with credit card or electronic check payments. |
